Dwecks TED talk

The power of believing you can. Carol Dweck creates this inspiring talk about not wasting our lives with just worrying about getting a good grade. She talks about giving kids hope and provides real life example of how her teaching model has improved the lives of struggling kids at schools and transformed the way these young kids think about engaging problems vs running from them. I believe her education model should be nationally incorporated into our k-12 schools.

“I just want to be average”

I Read this chapter in 1 sitting and found that this method worked for me.  Being able to continuously read without stopping is a useful skill. There were words I was not familiar with so I would re read a passage to try and figure that out. This and highlighting took up a lot of my time in this hour. Reading in an environment where your able to focus is important for retaining material. That’s why I did this in the library. I believe being in the library forces me to put my attention on my studies.  Personally thats the place where I can be the most efficient.
